Subject: Multiple Modalities within Station Rotations
Application: During station rotations for Chapters 7-10 of Orwell's Animal Farm, students were granted the agency to determine their own thinking style. Learners identified themselves as Creative, Analytical, and Practical thinkers based on a set of descriptors. They then set their own learning paths by choosing one of three activities listed under menus that corresponded with each style of thinker.
Successes:
1. Student engagement increased.
2. Higher-level students were challenged.
Challenges:
1. Some students selected the "easiest" menu options regardless of thinking style.
2. Differences in pacing were difficult to anticipate and manage.

Subject: Station Rotations
Application: Station rotations are a vital component of the blended learning model. The RHS English I team used station rotations to prepare students for the EOC test. During this activity, all 9th grade students were divided into teams and rotated through four skills-based stations.
Successes:
1. Teachers noticed a high level of student engagement.
2. The use of multiple modalities enhanced learning by appealing to various learning styles.
Challenges:
1. We need more data-based and purposeful grouping strategies.
2. Station activities would have been made more relevant with differentiation.
